You seem to suggest that the whole of the climate system can be reduced to the sum of the parts of this system, each part being associated with a different 100 square meter patch of ground. The notion that the whole can be reduced to the sum of its parts is the doctrine that is called “reductionism.” This doctrine is generally false but there is an exception. This exception, that the system can be described by linear equations, does not arise in the case of the climate system.
